Mount Tongariro
The central North Island Volcanic Plateau is where these three mountains are located. Only 188km North of Palmerston North, they are within the Manawatū-Wanganui boundary. At a height of 2,797 m (9,177 ft) these slopes are great for skiing and are located on one of the most active volcanic areas in the world.
